For the last 200 years, Mariachi, its music, and culture have formed part of the Mexico’s celebrations and folklor. Now, in modern times, Mariachi has broken the borders of Mexico and has been received with open arms in and out of Latin American countries.

Mariachi courses through our veins and is linked to our lives since birth until our death.

When a proud father hugs his son after his first communion, a Mariachi can be heard playing happy melodies for the family.

The happiness painted across people’s faces when they listen to the joyous melodies of  Las Mañanitas has no comparison. The celebrated person, surrounded by family, waiting to receive everybody’s hugs and best wishes while the Mariachi plays for them.

Quinceañeras can’t be complete without a Mariachi to welcome the young girl to the hall. As they walk in the family claps and celebrates the young girl, who now becomes a grown woman.

What can be said of the cold serenade nights, where the love-stricken lover braves the elements in order to communicate through the Mariachi, what he feels for his loved one. It doesn’t matter if its cold, or foggy, what matters that his loved one turns on her light and receives him with a kiss.

Weddings and their Mariachi masses can’t be left out. The bride, all dressed in white, standing before the church, waiting for the Mariachi to play The Angel of Heaven to announce her arrival. At the end, the couple leaves the church united as one being and prepares for a life together.

Who hasn’t seen a mother shed a tear when she listens the melodic lyrics of songs like Amor Eterno. Those lyrics bring back memories and a lost loved one, with whom she shared her life and love, or maybe she remembers a son that went before his time.

Finally, the mound of dirt that is thrown onto the coffin of a loved one while the Mariachi plays his favorite songs. The songs of birthplace where he was raised.  His family, more united than ever, knowing that “he asked for Mariachi before he passed away”.
